Over Cindy
Cindy Huijgen (1991) is correspondent in China voor onder meer De Telegraaf en het internationale persbureau Feature Story News. Naast geschreven artikelen en televisiereportages maakt ze ook graag items voor radio of podcasts. Ze woont sinds 2019 in Beijing en was de eerste Nederlandse journalist die aan het begin van de coronapandemie in Wuhan was om daar verslag te doen.
Voordat haar avontuur in China begon, werkte ze als vaste redacteur bij VPRO Bureau Buitenland en was ze freelance redacteur bij RTV Rijnmond en de Volkskrant. Huijgen heeft Chinees en Journalistiek gestudeerd aan de Universiteit Leiden.

About Cindy
Cindy Huijgen (1991) is a reporter in China for the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf and the international agency Feature Story News. Beside writing articles and producing television reports, she also likes to make items for radio or podcast. She has lived in Beijing since 2019 and was the first Dutch reporter in the beginning of the pandemic to report in Wuhan.
Before she started her journey in China, she worked as a desk editor at VPRO Bureau Buitenland, a Dutch program broadcasting on national radio. She was also a freelancer for a local radio and television news outlet RTV Rijnmond and for the daily Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant. Huijgen has a master’s degree in Chinese Studies and Journalism.
